Meet the Instructor — Edward Villarreal

Edward is the founder and lead instructor of Valor Tactical Group, bringing more than three decades of combined military and law enforcement experience to every class he teaches. His background includes eight years as a U.S. Army Infantry Staff Sergeant, two years as a corrections officer, and over twenty‑five years in law enforcement, where he has served in patrol, K9, gang investigations, SWAT, and criminal investigations. He currently serves as a Sergeant leading a team of detectives.

With more than twenty years as a certified firearms, low-light, and use‑of‑force instructor, Edward has trained a wide range of students — from police officers and military personnel to church safety teams, security professionals, and responsible armed citizens. His instruction is grounded in real‑world experience and built around a simple philosophy: training should be practical, honest, and focused on preparing people for the moments that matter.

Edward founded Valor Tactical Group to provide training that goes beyond check‑the‑box qualifications. His courses emphasize decision‑making under pressure, tactical clarity, and the mindset required to perform effectively in high‑stress situations. Students appreciate his calm, professional teaching style, his ability to break down complex concepts, and his genuine commitment to helping people grow in skill and confidence.

Edward founded Valor Tactical Group with a simple mission:

Deliver uncompromising, reality‑based training that prepares protectors to perform with confidence, integrity, and purpose.

His courses blend battlefield-tested tactics, law enforcement expertise, and scenario-driven learning to ensure every student leaves more capable, more confident, and more prepared to protect themselves and others.

Share experience with law-abiding citizens, helping them keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Our Goals
